SIME Non-Profit
SIME Non-Profit give selected non-profit organizations and social entrepreneurs free access to SIME main stage sessions and to tailor-made workshops on the latest technologies for fundraising, marketing and new solutions, designed to give new insight, tools and relationships. We matchmake the participants with the business community for mutually benefiting collaborations and each year have a competition for the SIME Non-Profit Challenge Award.
What we are
SIME Non Profit provides exclusive access to ideas, thinkers and inspiration from the world of IT and social media. We create opportunities for businesses, social entrepreneurs and non-profits to work together to take on the globe’s most challenging social issues. Be part of this two-day summit in November held in association with SIME Stockholm, participate in business to non-profit networking, ideas sharing workshops and get access to the latest tools and very best innovators from the world of IT technology.
SIME Non-Profit challenges
Each year, we ask non-profits to send us their biggest challenges within IT, social media and all things digital. We put those challenges to SIME attendees; the companies, social entrepreneurs and innovators best placed to collaborate and find solutions. The challenges are published on this site as well as pushed out through all of our social media channels, reaching all 1500-plus SIME Stockholm attendees.
You will shortly be able to check out the latest challenges here. Stay tuned so you can take one on and help make a difference.
SIME Non-Profit Challenge award
All challenges link up to be part of the SIME Non-Profit Challenge Award, where we give a prize worth SEK 150 000 worth of advertising to the one Challenge we find the most inspiring and that makes us go Wow!
In 2012 and 2011 the prize of 150 000 SEK worth of advertising was hosted by Aftonbladet, one of Sweden’s biggest newspapers reaching millions of people every day.
In 2010 it was hosted by Microsoft through 100 000 SEK worth of advertising in their channels and by Facebook through 50 000 SEK worth of advertising in theirs.
WINNER OF THE SIME NON-PROFIT AWARD 2012: GREENPEACE NORDIC
The jury’s motivation:
“This year’s award goes to an organization that has been around for a while and has had to constantly evolve to meet the growing challenges facing our planet and its inhabitants. It’s an organization that wants to use the power of social media to engage people in being more active in taking care of our world. Their challenge is to create models for how you as an organization can better engage digital activists as well as the masses. We hope and look forward to them sharing the tools and experiences they find with other volunteer organizations as we know many face the same challenge.”
WINNER OF THE SIME NON-PROFIT AWARD 2011: Volontärbyrån (The Swedish Volunteer Bureau)
The jury’s motivation:
“Volontärbyrån works in the service of every other NGO out there, connecting individuals with organizations and making good stuff happen. That’s a beautiful thing in it itself but with the addition of the volunteermap the matchmaking can happen in a brand new way. The technical solutions are easily available, but in order to spread the word the prize from Aftonbladet will come to perfect use.”
WINNERS OF THE SIME NON-PROFIT AWARD 2010: Doctors Without Borders and The Non-Violence Project.
